It's Scary How Good This Is!

After a successful collaboration brew last year, Bruz Beers and Brewery Ardennes of Geneva, New York have done it again!

Once again, we brewed our favorite style of Belgian ale – a Tripel. This year’s version is concocted from pilsner malt, a touch of wheat malt and German Grüngeist hops, which were used both in the boil and dry-hopped in the fermenter. Since Grüngeist literally translates to “Green Ghost,” that’s what we named the beer.

Green Ghost Tripel

Green Ghost Tripel

Green Ghost Tripel is a slightly hazy, deep golden color with a dense, creamy off-white head. The aroma prominently features the spicy, floral Grüngeist hops with a solid grainy background and fruity notes. On the palate, the rich malt is balanced by a light bitterness and delicate hop flavors. Fruity notes of passion fruit, ripe peaches and a hint of citrus end up in the crisp mouthfeel and long hoppy, fruity finish. Despite its well-hidden 9.2% alcohol, the overall impression of the beer is bright, clean and very drinkable.

We Love Tripels

Since both Derek Edinger of Brewery Ardennes and the Bruz brew team have a deep love for Belgian-style Tripels, Green Ghost was a fun collaboration that allowed us to push boundaries, while still maintaining the traditional elements of the style.

Come into either of the Bruz taprooms soon to get your hands on this amazing beer, which won’t stick around long!

Santé!
