Spooky!

Into spooky fall beers? We are too! Bruz Beers has a devilish selection to choose from.

Try one (or both) of our two Belgian-style Golden Strong Ales. You can get both in our taprooms and in cans.

Devil of a Beer

The first Golden Strong ale was Duvel (Flemish for “Devil”) and since it was first introduced under that name in 1923, other beers made in the same style have been named after demons, pirates, and other sketchy characters. Beers like Satan, Judas, Lucifer, Beelzebub, Piraat, Brigand and Delerium Tremens are examples of this style. They are infamous for hiding their high (8.0-10.0% ABV) alcohol, which then sneaks up on you after a couple. They are truly the “bad boys” of Belgian ales.

Bruz Diablo Colorado (Colorado Devil in Spanish) is our year-round Golden Strong. It is blonde and spicy with a dry finish, and weighs in at 8.5% alcohol. Our second Golden Strong this month is Hellraiser – an orange-tinted and very flavorful extra Strong Golden ale that comes in at a whopping 11% ABV! Either is sure to have you stumbling and dialing up Uber.

Pumpkin Beer

Pumpkin beers have a long history in the U.S., going all the way back to colonial times, when the gourds were used in beer, as well as breads, pies, custards, sauces, and molasses. Even George Washington brewed pumpkin beers. Modern pumpkin beers taste more like pumpkin pie spice, as pumpkin is pretty neutral in flavor. Some people despise them, while others can’t wait for fall to come around, bringing a slew of pumpkin beers into the market. Today, there are more than 400 pumpkin beers brewed in the U.S. and in Europe. But grab them quick! They go fast and when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Bruz Biere de Gourd

Bruz Beers has made different pumpkin beers almost every year, and this year’s offering is Biére de Gourd. Its base beer is Bière de Garde, a French-style beer similar to a Saison. Biére de Gourd is a hazy orange beer with a light tan head and is spicy on the nose and palate. Because it uses a proportion of real pumpkin, it has a substantial body and a fruity, spicy finish.

So, pick your poison (so to speak) and stop in for a taste of Diablo Colorado, Hellraiser, or Biére de Gourd, while they last!
