The first signs of fall definitely include the harvest of fresh seasonal fruits, and the Belgians have a long history of incorporating a bounty of fruits into their beers. Among the best fruit additions to beer has to be apricots. They add fresh aromas and flavors, and an overall complexity to the brew, due to their sweet-tart taste and unique aroma.
This year, Bruz is welcoming fall with Apricot Dame Blanche—a Belgian-style witbier with an added punch of complexity and alcohol. Apricot Dame Blanche features a refreshing blend of citrus and subtle stone fruit flavors, with a light orange, cloudy appearance. It is reminiscent of our regular Dame Blanche (The White Lady) white beer, which we have made since the brewery opened. The addition of fresh apricot lends a sweet, fruity aroma, balanced by hints of coriander and orange peel. Crisp and effervescent, it delivers a smooth mouthfeel that invites you to drink on to its fruity finish. To us this is step one of diving into fall!
Apricot Dame Blanche is available now at both Bruz taprooms – 67th & Pecos and Colfax & York in Denver.
