Get ready for your teeth to throw a party for your mouth! Our new midsummer sour beer is Whoa Blackberry, and it’s a truly juicy experience! Whoa Blackberry is a golden sour ale, fermented with our proprietary sour yeast culture and macerated with a boatload of blackberries. The result is an authentic Belgian-style sour ale that can only be described as WOW!
Whoa Blackberry’s deep, reddish-purple color and pink head are gorgeous in the glass and lure you in to an aroma that is all fresh blackberries on the front end, with funk in the background. Its flavor is tart, rustic and wild, with a strong fresh blackberry presence, and notes of lemony citrus, earthy funk and understated bitterness. The finish is long and complex with wave after wave of fresh dark fruit and rustic tartness. Its alcohol is relatively high for a sour at 7.9% ABV but is well-hidden, but adds depth and complexity to the brew.
Whoa Blackberry is on draft and available in 500 ml bottles at both of our taprooms. Its release will be this Saturday, July 13th, at our 8th Anniversary bash, at our 67th and Pecos brewery location. We will be celebrating with live music, multiple food trucks, and lots of great beer! Join us!
