The World of Belgian Beers class has been a tradition at Bruz since we opened in 2016. Participants learn about – and taste – all the major styles of Belgian beer in a fun and engaging class. But with social distancing and sheltering-in place, we have had to suspend the classes – until now! Welcome to The World of Belgian Beers – Home Edition!

World of Belgian Beers – Home Edition

If you have been missing beer-related activities as much as we have, don’t miss this one! We are conducting World of Belgian Beers on Facebook Live – complete with tastings! It’s easy.  Ahead of the class, download the recommended beers shopping list we created below for this class.  Take this list to your favorite local liquor store and buy what you can. At the designated time, you (and your fellow Belgian beer lovers) will log onto the Bruz Facebook page for the class and experience an hour and a half of “Beer Disneyland” as we taste our way through the major styles of Belgian beer. And best of all – it’s FREE – compliments of Bruz Beers.

We will be holding the class on:

 Friday, May 1 – from 7:00 to 8:30 pm

 Saturday, May 9 – from 8:30 to 10:00 pm

Beer Shopping List

During The World of Belgian Beers – Home Edition, we will discuss and go through tasting notes for each of the Belgian beer styles listed below. For tasting at home, we recommend that you select four to eight styles and purchase a small bottle or can of each. You can then break out and taste your selections when we reach those points in the program.

Belgian Pils (Blonde lager): Stella Artois.

White Beer/ Witbier (Pale blonde spiced ale)): Hoegaarden Wit, Blanche de Bruxelles, St. Bernardus Wit, Avery White Rascal, Blue Moon Belgian White Ale, Bruz Dame Blanche.

Belgian Amber Ale (Session-strength amber ale): DeKoninck, Speciale Palm, New Belgium Fat Tire, Ommegang Rare Vos, Bruz Mail Ale.

Hop-Accentuated Beer (IPA): Houblon Chouffe, DeRanke XX, Duvel Triple Hop, Bruz Dawg Daze IPA.
